“You were put on this earth to achieve your greatest self, to live out your purpose, and to do it courageously.” – Steve Maraboli
Once upon a time, I had absolutely no clue that I was here on this earth to live out a specific purpose and looking back on it, my life was pretty zombie like.
I woke up in the mornings and got my kids ready for school, dropped them off, made my way to work, picked the kids up, cooked dinner, went to sleep and did it all over again the next day. I did this week in and week out…and for years! I actually could’ve gone on in this manner maybe for decades if it wasn’t for all of life’s little unpleasant surprises that were simply trying to show me that I had come here to do something more with my life. Not to say that working and taking care of my kids was not something, but in the regard that there was something more that I was not doing that I had indeed came here to do.
So what did I end up doing (you may be wondering by now)? I discovered ME. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m still discovering me, but I decided to make a vow, a commitment to myself, to go on a journey of self-discovery to achieve my greatest self. Yes, this was right up my perfectionist self’s alley of more ways to improve and correct myself, but don’t get me wrong, it has definitely been a great deal of work!! Truth be told, I have been tested and tried unlike anything I could have ever imagined. But it has definitely been so worth it and I wouldn’t change any of it for the world because it has made me the gal that I am today. So, what can you do to discover your greatest self? You can start by:
Facing Your Fears
You can most definitely overcome your fears to live out your truest life purpose. Yes, our fears can seem very intimidating at first, but the sooner that you face your fears, the faster you will grow!
Discovering Your Inner Passion
Discovering your inner passion is like hitting the jackpot. Inner passion can allow you to overcome any obstacle because it gives you the drive and stamina to endure. Discovering your inner passion also gives you clues as to what your true calling or life purpose is.
Allowing Your Life to Shift
Important shifts occur in our lives when we are ready to leave behind what we have outgrown. It’s important to make room for newness by allowing our lives to shift. This may feel a tad bit uncomfortable at first, but you can offset any discomfort by allowing yourself to be open to new possibilities while releasing the old.
Remember, discovering your greatest self can be a slow journey with many grooves and turns, but I promise you that it will be a very rewarding one that can lead to some really great things. Believe me, I know!
